Product Description

IPD’s 4T4 ball bearing turbocharger for Volvo’s B52X4T engines is the first completely custom manufactured bolt on turbo available. This is a serious turbo for the enthusiast that wants to extract the maximum performance from the factory supplied engine in their car or for the engine build producing up to 500 crank horsepower.
Volvo uses a proprietary design for the exhaust manifold flange and outlet that made it necessary for us to manufacture a custom stainless steel exhaust housing from scratch rather than modifying a component from another car. Volvo also uses a low pressure TCV boost control system that will not work with most waste-gate actuators, requiring us to use our own specific billet actuator.
Our primary goal was to build the best possible solution for performance while allowing the use of intake and exhaust performance components that may have been previously installed by the tuner. Our larger more efficient ball bearing design allows far greater power output, at lower than stage 2 boost levels, without sacrificing mid-range boost delivery. This turbo represents the perfect synthesis of OE grade manufacturing processes and aftermarket performance improvement while maintaining factory fit. We feel this is the ultimate answer for the discerning performance enthusiast.
This kit includes injectors (Bosch 650cc) and our bespoke tune to match; while the turbo we supply in this kit is a bolt in component, it will require the addition of an external bypass valve (like the IPD Boostability components) for more stable boost control.

IPD 4T4 Turbo includes these features:
- 4T4 turbocharger incorporating a 44lb/min billet compressor wheel
- Dual ceramic ball bearing CHRA
- Ceramic coated stainless steel exhaust housing
- IPD billet wategate actuator
- High pressure Aeroquip hose for water lines
- Stainless steel braided oil feed line and hardware
- Metal oil drain tube with o-ring and gasket
- OEM Volvo manifold to turbo metal gasket
IPD’s 4T4 turbocharger and associated components are designed to function in harmony as a kit and have been developed as such. Due to the complexity involved and nature of this product IPD cannot extend any warranty beyond basic 1-year manufacturing and workmanship defects when not used in conjunction with IPD 650cc fuel injectors, IPD bypass valve and IPD/MTC ECU tune. If you choose to install and use IPD’s 4T4 turbocharger with components and/or ECU tune not recommended by IPD, warranty claims will be subject to evaluation, failure due to improper tuning will not be covered.

You need this special tool to remove your ECU. For automatics, the ECU is the left-most one in the ECU/TCU box, and has a black connector and is Bosch branded.
We decode the correct files for your ECU from your car's VIN, so make sure you type it in accurately during the checkout process.

Products from major brand names are almost always in stock in the manufacturer’s domestic warehouse. These suppliers have good fill rates, but even if they are out of stock, we may be able to source it from a variety of alternative wholesale sources.
We are at the most a week away from all these warehouses, usually much less. Does that mean we will always have your product available within that window? Honestly, we can't promise that but we’ll do everything we can to get your parts to you in a timely manner.
