Originally developed for advanced, twin-clutch transmissions like Porsche's PDK and Volkswagen's DSG, its low viscosity and wet clutch friction properties ironically make it a perfect fit for Volvo's classic RWD manual transmissions calling for Type F ATF or 5W30/10W30 engine oil:

DCTF is a high performance Technosynthese® fluid with excellent anti-wear, anti-corrosion, and anti-foam properties, and its GL-4 rating makes it brass synchromesh safe. DCTF's thin 75W / 10W30 viscosity plays nice with hydraulic actuators and solenoids, and the wet clutch friction coefficient is a great match for the cone-type clutches found in Laycock de Normanville overdrive units.
