The 2.0 turbo- or twin-charged modular "VEA" or "DrivE" engine is a compact marvel of high tech engineering, and like many of today's best engines, it uses high pressure gasoline direct injection.
Like the SI6 "short six" 3.2i and 3.0 T6 that came before it, it has a cam-driven vacuum pump located high on the driver's side of the engine, and the addition of GDI to the VEA's tech sheet means there's also a high-pressure fuel pump driven by the same cam on these 2.0s.
If you're already servicing the co-located vacuum pump and want to do some good "while you're in there" maintenance, or if you're about to cross over 100k miles and want some added peace-of-mind, this kit has all the Genuine Volvo parts you need to ensure your HPFP continues to run smoothly:
