The front suspension in Volvo P2 models (S60 V70 S80 XC70) is notorious for a few common failures. Control arms, endlinks and ball joints need to be serviced and replaced frequently to avoid clunks, rattles and groans on these Volvos. We have found that even with the OEM Volvo components they sometimes need to be replaced as frequently as every 20,000 miles. XC70 models are particularly hard on control arm bushing.
