ipd Exhibiting at SEMA

It’s crazy to think the first SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show took place in the basement of Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles back in 1967. SEMA has grown into one of the largest trade shows in the world. It's held at the Las Vegas Convention Center usually in late October. SEMA now features more than 2,400 exhibiting manufacturing companies and hosts more than 140,000 individuals attending the show. This annual trade event brings manufactures together with buyers from all over the world. Manufactures come to SEMA to showcase their new products while buyers come to check out innovative ideas and new items that may suit their company. The SEMA show is not open to the public but rather a place for industry professionals to connect and do business. 

For many automotive enthusiasts attending the SEMA show, it's a privilege and lifelong dream. Those who are lucky enough to attend get to witness innovation, concept, and creativity from some of the industries best minds. For automotive enthusiasts and business owners, showcasing a car at the SEMA feels like you just won the Nobel Prize. The SEMA show is pure chaos and bliss with a little sensory overload sprinkled on top. This event displays the hottest trends in the automotive industry from lugnuts to complete car builds.  Some of the worlds most expensive automotive creations are on display at the show as well.

For the past 50 years ipd has sent employees to the show looking for new products that support the Volvo market. ipd had the opportunity to build multiple concepts for Volvo and those concepts turned into actual car builds that were showcased at the SEMA show. You may be familiar with our famous Gull-wing C30 or All Terrain XC70. Both of those cars were specifically built to be displayed at SEMA.   

This year ipd will be making history. 2017 will be the first year ipd is an exhibitor at the SEMA show. ipd has partnered with GLUON Solutions to showcase our new tuning device.  GLUON has the most innovative way to store tunes and upload then into your car using a smartphone and we are excited to be there and stand beside such a wonderful product.
