ipd opens WPD for other car models
Monday, May 25, 2015 - ipd staff
ipd is proud to announce that we have launched WPD (Worldwide Parts Distribution) as a subsidiary in order to bring service and products to the owners of other makes of vehicles besides Volvo. WPD will specialize in automotive repair and maintenance parts for a wider selection of automobiles. ipd has spent over fifty years developing relationships with manufacturers and distributors that allow us to offer more for less, while still offering the customer support that has made ipd famous.
We are beginning with our Subaru parts line since we have had some recent history and experience with these cars. Right now we are working hard to add parts and application listings to our WPD site for most Subaru models. Saab and Volkswagen will be added next followed by more European makes such as Porche, BMW, Audi and Mercedes. We will then add parts listings for all Japanese models including Honda, Mazda and Nissan.
See what we’ve done at www.wpdusa.com.
"We understand that our customers may have something other than a Volvo sitting in their driveway and we want to offer the same reliable parts and customer service for those cars as well. We are thrilled about this new venture and hope our customers feel they can turn to us for the other cars in their fleet" - Stu Hockman - ipd President

Congrats on starting WPD! I would like to say that all vehicles in our driveway are Bricks but.... we also have a Subaru. I learned of IPD about 2 1/2 years ago from a guy I bought a 92 245 from. Car needed serious overhaul since 22 years of neglect had taken its toll. Bought almost all my parts from your website which is very handy since I live in downeast Maine....not too many parts distributors with inventory for 20 year old Volvo parts. My Swedish pickup has been running flawlessly for over 2 years now through Maine nor'easters and whatever else the winter gods can hurl at us. Look forward to buying Subbie parts from you as well. Thousand thanks.

This new venture should be interesting. I hope I can benefit from it by combining purchases for different vehicles through one business. I have been an iPd customer since 2003 and have kept my old 1990 740 rolling since that time with items purchased here. I doubt you will ever venture into US auto parts, but one of my two Jeeps is a 2003 Wrangler, which is becoming more difficult to find certain engine parts through the dealer network - they have them but will not stock them, so many things are on backorder these days. We also own a pair of Honda Accords, one of which is getting old and that I am doing my own work on more and more. Perhaps one day you guys will sell parts for older Hondas and Jeeps? One can hope. Good luck with this expansion!

besides our 04 V70R we also have 91 saab 900 convertible, 2011 Saab 95 and a 2008 Mini Cooper clubman S. Would be great if you started offering parts for them as well.

SUBARU THE BEST CHOICE FOR IPD. Volvo and Subaru have been my favorite cars what means WPD AND IPD??

For starters, SAAB is your next best bet. I do not own, nor have ever owned, a SAAB, but that's due more to circumstance than intent. I respect them and like that there would be a group like yours supporting the make (especially given recent history of ownership troubles). I have a Honda and have many friends and family that own Hondas and have developed a high regard for them. It would be nice to have a website with the sort of Scandinavian atmosphere of practical upgrades that I get from IPD, rather than the boy-racer feel of all the Honda websites I've found.

I would recommend SAAB. My current project car is a 93 Saab 900 convertible. We've gone through a couple Volvo wagons and love them. Runner ups would be VW and MINI. Good luck with everything

Congratulations!! Great service and value extended. I wish I had found these blokes a few years ago and very happy to continue purchasing here. Delivery to the diametric "other side of the planet" is not a problem - very swift - maybe a week or so. in Perth Australia
