IPD Volvo's 40th Anniversary!
40th Anniversary Takes IPD Back to our Roots as a Volvo Service Facility and Volvo Performance Parts Specialist
Not long after Volvo began importing cars to the US market, ipd was in business providing Volvo performance parts and accessories as well as service and installation. Well, as we prepare to celebrate our 40th in grand fashion, we have some exciting news to share. IPD Volvo will be opening a premier service and installation center right next door to our current facility with the Grand Opening coinciding with our annual Open House/Garage Sale event May 17th. We’ll initially be opening with 4 bays offering complete dealer level service as well as the installation of ipd parts & performance upgrades by Volvo factory trained technicians. If you are in the Northwest, you will soon get a brochure fully explaining the new services we’ll be offering through our new facility.
Over the next 4 newsletters we’ll take a nostalgic look back at our history and how we became the countries #1 Volvo performance parts company by providing unmatched service and quality parts for 40 years. We’ve always strived for a personal relationship with our customers and we hope you’ll come to know us better by sharing in our history. We plan to cover the very beginning of the company, the first product, the first project Volvo, the first race car, the first racing championship, the first major magazine articles on our project cars and many other milestones along the way.
Some of the major accomplishments we’ll cover include the creation of our staff and how most of us were former customers. (our staff will be given the opportunity to share a little bit of their own story in future newsletters!) We’ll look back at our original building where we spent our first 25 years near downtown Portland, our current facility near the Portland Airport where we’ve been for 15 years and we will also show you our new service facility which is located right next door to our present location. You’ll see how our Volvo Parts catalogs grew from a “one page flyer” to become the most popular resource of the Volvo enthusiast. And we promise to keep it interesting with lot’s of cool vintage photos and stories, special 40th anniversary events and sales promotions to save you money and help us celebrate.
If you’ve ever thought about making the trip out to attend our Open House/ Garage sale, this is the year to do it as we plan a big 40th anniversary bash. You’ll see some of the countries nicest restored and modified Volvos from 1963 to 2003. You’ll save at least 10% off of our entire stock of parts and up to 40% off of a few select product lines. You’ll have access to the west coast largest Volvo parts swap meet as well as a huge selection of used Volvos for sale by private parties. Since we will be celebrating the grand opening of our service and installation center, look for special package deals that include parts and installation.
