In the rush to get on the road for the highly anticipated vacation or weekend get away, it's easy to overlook what we usually consider the obvious. Take a post-it note or tape a piece of paper to the steering wheel the night before leaving with the following quick checks listed:

• Tire pressure (especially if overloaded)
• Oil, coolant and wiper wash levels
• Headlights, brake lights and turn signals
• Check the horn
• Check your wiper blades and clean the windshield
• Oh Yeah! Don't forget to fill up the tank!
