M41 & M46 Overdrive Etiquette

If you’ve been shifting your manual transmission vehicle into overdrive without using the clutch, for shame!

We all know how hard that overdrive unit works, help increase it’s life span by pushing in the clutch, pressing the button, and then releasing the clutch. By shifting in this way you prevent the quick, harsh bang into overdrive that is associated without clutch usage. Treat your overdrive like one more gear in the transmission and give it the courtesy that you afford your other gears. Your overdrive will thank you in the long run.
