When it comes to performance, Volvo’s intake system on turbo models could use some improvement. The stock factory air inlet pipe is accordion style tubing that disrupts air flow and also reduces air flow by having a constricted section that is actually smaller than the turbo inlet. These restrictions and disruptions to air flow delay turbo spool and create hotter intake temperatures.

Ipd’s one-piece seven layer silicone intake tube eliminates these issues and gives you a noticeable difference in throttle response.  Our turbo intake tube is a larger diameter than stock and has no unions for smooth air flow.

Ipd’s inlet tube is reinforced with spiral wire running the whole length of the pipe to offer better resistance to collapsing under vacuum than competing products.

We’ve also incorporated a one inch diameter boss for use with an external CBV (Compressor Bypass Valve.)  We include an aluminum plug for use on cars that are using the stock CBV.
