Volvo’s turbo intake system left some room for improvement when it comes to performance. The factory fresh air pipe is corrugated and reduces down to a diameter that is smaller than the turbo inlet. When running higher boost levels those restrictions slow the spool up time and create hotter intake temperatures. Your intake is constantly under vacuum and pressure, maximizing the efficiency in the intake system is very important.

Ipd offers the highest quality turbo inlet system. Our one-piece 7 layer silicone unit is reinforced with impregnated wire running the whole length of the pipe. We have pioneered the first wire impregnated silicone inlet in the Volvo market. Due to extreme vacuum and boost conditions, the impregnated wire ensures superior resistance to collapsing in this area.

Ipd’s turbo inlet system is a larger diameter and has no unions for the least amount of turbulence possible. Ipd’s turbo inlet also incorporates an extended 1.0” boss for customers looking to install an external compressor bypass, overcoming inherent design flaws from the factory CBV. If you choose not to run an external bypass in the immediate future, you can simply leave the aluminum plug in that location and trim the hose.
