IPD HD Billet & Polyurethane Transmission Torque Mount Bushing Insert

Most front wheel drive and all wheel drive Volvos utilize a link style transmission mount installed between the transmission and the engine sub frame. This mount is designed to limit the amount of torque on the power train while accelerating.

The factory mount has a history of the smaller (transmission) end failing prematurely. When the bushing fails, it allows the engine and transmission to shift a small amount under torque load. This causes stress on the other mounts and noticeably reduces shifting smoothness and can cause clunking noises.

The most common failure with the torque mount is the small bushing on the transmission end of the assembly. IPD has created an economical option made out of the high grade billet aluminum. We replaced the factory rubber bushing with durable polyurethane. The small billet aluminum housing and polyurethane bushing is a direct replacement for the same section of the factory mount assembly.
