Description
Rod and main bearings are replaceable wear items inside your motor. The clearances involved are very small and precise and it’s best to have them inspected by a machine shop whenever disassembled. They should always be replaced when rebuilding, which may require machining and a new size of bearing. Rod knock is due to excess clearance in the rod bearings and machine work is usually required for a proper repair.
