Product Description
A common problem found in high mileage 5 & 6 cylinder engines used in 850 S70, V70, C70, S60, S80 and XC90 models is low oil pressure at idle that will cause the low oil pressure warning system to activate. Usually this is caused by failed o-rings in the oil pump pick up tube connection, which allows air to be drawn into the system. The air causes the oil pressure to drop to dangerous levels. If you are experiencing flickering low oil pressure warning lights or messages, this is the most likely cause. The kit includes all the seals and gaskets you’ll need to do the job. You will also need the chemical gasket kit for the oil pan surfaces as Volvo does not use a conventional gasket in this application.
One way to test for this issue is run the engine until warm, let it idle for 2 minutes then turn off the engine.Pull the dipstick and wipe it clean. Reinsert into the engine and then inspect the oil on the dipstick as you remove it. If you see a considerable amount of bubbles in the oil that is on the end of the dipstick it's likely that the seals are failing and allowing air to be drawn into the system.
This is a "generic" Volvo branded kit that contains the common o-rings and gaskets needed on a variety of Volvo engines. Not all components will be used on all applications. It is possible that your particular engine may need additional seals or gaskets.
About Genuine Volvo
Everything IPD supplies under the "Genuine Volvo" designation are the factory original Volvo parts. These are the same parts that Volvo used to manufacture your vehicles on the assembly line. All Volvo supplied Genuine Volvo parts are made to specifications by Volvo and under their strict quality control guidelines. Our customers should expect the same high-quality when purchasing Genuine Volvo products which in the past were exclusively available as dealer only items. Volvo relies on other high-quality OEM manufactures such as Lemforder, Behr, Sachs, Bosch, Valeo, Siemens, VDO, Corteco, and many more to maintain its dedication to quality and safety.
In 2017, IPD announced that it was the exclusive North American distributor for Genuine Classic Volvo parts. We are proud of our Volvo heritage dating back to 1963, a reputation that is unmatched by others in the industry.
Many may not know this but Volvo in Latin roughly translates to "to roll". The company was founded back in 1927 by Assar Gabrielsson and Gustaf Larsson as a spin-off from ball-bearing manufacturer SKF. While the Volvo logo looks like the biology symbol for male, it's really the Swedish symbol for Iron. With a nod to its heritage in alloys, Volvo chose a logo that depicted a ring bisecting at one o’clock. Today Volvo is known around the world as one of the most iconic brands known for safety, longevity, and its enthusiast following.
IPD has been proudly serving the Volvo community since 1963. We are motivated to be the very best destination for your Volvo needs. Our customer and vehicle first approach means that your experience is our first priority. We have truly hassle-free returns, an in depth Volvo blog, and provide DIY Volvo guides and videos for many of our products.

Policies & Warranty
A Core Charge is a refundable deposit added to the price of a product by a manufacturer as a bounty to encourage the return of rebuildable cores.
Cores must be complete (mostly assembled and not missing parts) to qualify for refund.
Cores must be complete returned in the manufacturer's box with part number markings to qualify for refund. Typically, the core is returned in the box that contained the replacement product.
Core return and any shipping associated with it is the customer's responsibility.
Available to Order means the item is readily available from one or more supplier warehouses and should be available to ship within a timely manner (unless otherwise noted on the product listing.)
Products from major brand names like Volvo Genuine, Bosch, Mahle, Aisin, etc. are almost always in stock in the manufacturer’s domestic warehouse. These suppliers have good fill rates, but even if they are out of stock, we may be able to source it from a variety of alternative source. We are at the most 10 days away from all those warehouses, usually much less. Does that mean we will always have your product available within that window? Honestly, no. There are many factors that can delay things by a few days but we’ll do everything we can to fulfill your order in a timely manner.
