If your Volvo doesn't track straight down the road and you've had difficulty getting the front end properly aligned, the suspension bushings may be worn or broken. Clunking sounds when driving on rough or graveled roads, or squeaking noises over railroad tracks and intersections are also key indicators of bushing problems. Our polyurethane bushing kit includes the four lower a-arm bushings.
You may hear of this type of bushing referred to as a poly bushing, urethane bushing or plastic bushing. Those terms are all slang references to the same bushing material. Polyurethane offers the advantage of being impervious to grease and oil, and therefore doesn't degrade from the common contact with those substances. We formulate our bushings for a slight increase in firmness, but not too much to degrade ride comfort. Many companies aim their poly bushings for the competition market, which can lead to a very jarring ride - ours are designed for everyday street use. Unlike rubber bushings, poly bushings must be lubricated when being installed, (lube provided).
