Description
LiquiMoly Full Synthetic Hypoid 75W-90 gear oil is GL-5 rated, making it perfect for use in differentials and transfer cases. It's a full synthetic, with good fluid film and shear characteristics and a good viscosity index allowing it to keep flowing at low temperatures.
LiquiMoly's blend of anti-wear and extreme pressure (EP) additives make it suitable for straight cut gears, spiral/helical gears, and hypoid (offset helical) gears. It's a great alternative to OEM Volvo gear oil for rear- and all-wheel-drive differentials and angle gears.
LiquiMoly Full Synthetic Hypoid 75W-90 is also backwards compatible with GL-4 and MT-1 ratings, and is yellow metal safe. It's therefore suitable for use in synchromesh manual transmissions, giving you all the friction and wear protection of a modern gear oil while still having good friction characteristics and being safe for brass synchronizers.

Additional Technical Information
For FWD/AWD applications, we suggest a lower viscosity 75W-80 gear oil for use in manual transmissions, especially in cold weather; Redline MTL or Genuine Volvo fluid are great options. LiquiMoly 75W-90 is still an excellent gear oil in those cars for angle gears and differentials.
