Lets face it. Felt seals provide a mediocre seal at best. They generally will weep even with a new seal and are a constant annoyance; especially on a fresh rebuild.
This housing actually comes off of a later B21/B23/B230 engine and utilizes the later, upgraded silicone crank seal. The inner diameter matches up to the B18 and B20 crank and can be easily swapped over from your old felt housing!
Toss that old felt seal in the trash and reap the benefits of a tighter, better seal!

Potential Product Fitment Issues
Note: Comparing your old housing with this new one you will notice that it has some extra cast ears down on the lower housing section which are used on the later model cars. The B18 and B20 will not utilize these but in no way will affect performance.About Aftermarket
