Product Description
Volvo's B6304T and B6324S series of "short six" engines have aluminum blocks and heads. To give the head bolts a harder surface to clamp down on than cast aluminum, these hardened steel inserts thread in to the head before the head bolts are put in, giving them good purchase and reducing the chance of the head lifting off the block. If you're doing head work, replacing these along with the torque-to-yield head bolts is suggested.
