Product Description
Eventually, your Volvo's heater core will fail. When that time comes, you’ll get anti-freeze vapor out of the interior vents. It'll be especially noticeable when the defroster is used. Left unrepaired, this can also lead to serious corrosion problems in the floor pan.
Unfortunately the original style, all brass heater cores are no longer available from aftermarket sources. We've searched far and wide for a reliable supply but that well has finally dried up. These economy heater cores differ in construction and differ visually from the OEM style ones but do work with a little determination.
For those looking for the OEM heater cores, we do carry them (see recommended products) but Volvo charges accordingly for the all metal style.
This is a very time consuming job on these models as the entire dash must come out and the heater housing cases must be split. Plan at least a day with solid DIY skills or consider having it done by an experienced shop.
