Covid-19 Update from the VP of IPD

Dear IPD customers,

 

We would like to let all our amazing customers know that IPD is committed to staying open during this COVID-19 outbreak. IPD is proactively taking prudent steps to protect our employees and customers. We are monitoring our own health and applying many resources to maintain the cleanliness of all workspaces here at IPD. We will continue to monitor and operate within all current state and federal guidelines suggested by health authorities. 

Even though IPD is primarily a shipping distribution company, local walk-in orders are very popular here in Portland Oregon. We love visiting with all Volvo enthusiasts who choose to visit our primary facility, however in an effort to curtail potential COVID-19 transmission, we have decided to temporarily suspend visitation and Will-Call pick up. We ask that all local customers take advantage of our flat rate shipping option of $4.95 for the greater Portland area. If you are in immediate need of any Volvo part and you must pick it up the same day, please call 800-444-6473 and one of our Customer Service agents will gladly work with you to make arrangements for pick-up outside of our office location. 

As the nation is seeing restrictions put in place to help decrease the spread of this global virus, here at IPD we are doing our best to protect the entire community. In support of recommended “social distancing” we will still be happy to speak with you on the phone, email, and social media. During this health emergency, IPD is committed to ensuring you have access to obtaining and receiving parts, allowing you to maintain a safe and reliable mode of transportation. Blog Update 3/20/2020: UPS Shipping Notice Questions and Answers

What measures is UPS taking to prevent the spread of infection?
UPS staff across the globe will continue to follow guidance on the best methods to prevent the spread of infection in accordance with recommendations provided by the World Health Organization (WHO), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health authorities around the world.

Are you still making deliveries? Which countries have restrictions?
UPS is maintaining delivery services except where limited by government restrictions. We are working in partnership with governments around the world to obtain exceptions that allow our operations to continue wherever possible, even in restricted areas.  UPS delivery operations have been designated critical infrastructure by governments and we continue to pick up and deliver, even in restricted areas.

What is UPS doing to help during the novel Coronavirus outbreak?
In the U.S. the White House through the Rapid-Response Taskforce for novel Coronavirus Testing Sites recently asked UPS to assist with the logistics planning and operations to support the opening and regular operation of drive-up novel Coronavirus community-based testing sites in several cities.

No Will-Calls - Effective 3/18/2020

Due to Oregon State laws for social distancing during the Covid-19 outbreak, we are choosing to close down the will-call option at our location here in Portland, Oregon- effective 3/18/2020.

We now provide a flat rate shipping option for our local customers. You can select this online when ordering as the specialty shipping rate, which will be generated by your zip code, or you can call in your order and have our customer service team work  out the local shipping for you.
