Customer Service Representative
ipd is a small but growing automotive parts reseller and manufacturer based in Portland, Oregon near the Portland Airport. We have a very friendly work environment. Job Summary:
IPD emphasizes exemplary customer service, and in this vital role you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive prompt, courteous and professional attention to product inquires, order placement and maintenance, as well as technical support for our products and their installation.
Job Description:
Customer Service Representatives spend the majority of their time on the phone answering inquires about our products, assisting customers with the placement and maintenance of orders, and offering technical support for our products. Email is another key form of communication with our customers, and representatives field both phone calls and emails throughout the day. Customer service representatives are also tasked with assistance in daily logistics management as well as to engage with our customers via online enthusiast forums and other forms of social media. We have a large number of local customers and we make ourselves available for those customers by way of a walk-in counter and "will call" area, for which our Customer Service Representatives are also responsible.
Job Skills Required:
First and foremost we are looking for individuals with excellent customer service and communication skills. Patience, professionalism, and attention to detail are crucial attributes for this role. Familiarity with the automotive industry is a plus, particularly Volvo cars is important however education and assistance with mastering the nuances of the Volvo brand will be continuously provided. A strong desire and ability to learn and retain information is as important as baseline knowledge. We're looking for individuals with strong verbal and written communication skills, and you should be able to comfortably navigate basic computer systems and internet applications. Additional language familiarity such as Spanish or Japanese is appreciated but not required.
Job Specifics:
We are hiring part time and full time customer service representatives who report daily from 8:15am to 5pm Monday-Friday except for Holidays. The schedule is subject to change during summer months. There are occasions when some heavy lifting (over 50 lbs) is required, however should you be unable to perform those tasks there are plenty of people who can assist. You will be teamed with other customer service representatives and will work within close proximity to those individuals.

Product Line Associate

Job Description:
IPD offers a comprehensive line of Genuine, OE, OEM, exclusive, and aftermarket automotive parts through an intuitive website. Our Product Line Associates are resources for applications, sourcing, technical support documentation and strategic marketing plans for product listings. A familiarity across Volvo’s product line with the ability to recognize model faults and common issues from the customer perspective is crucial. Product Line Associates are able to address these issues by working with manufactures on product updates and quality improvements. Product Line Associates have the ability to work with a variety of automotive parts manufactures domestically and internationally while creating an avenue for IPD to support e-commerce automotive enthusiasts expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with the Volvo automotive enthusiast community via online forums. Create ways to increase product awareness and availability through enthusiast channels.
- Provide technical support and insight to internal and external customers.
- Enhance product listings related to common repairs and issues.
- Resource OE products directly from original manufacturer or alternative sources.
- Researches new brands and products.
- Cross reference Genuine Part numbers to high quality aftermarket like items.
- Communicate with product team regarding part update, pricing, images, and application data.
- Provides detailed feedback to Web/Marketing team for improved navigation and website flow.
- Work close with marketing teams to enhance social media content by creating and managing DIY tech tips, videos, and articles
Prerequisites:
- Volvo automotive knowledge background.
- Automotive e-commerce experience preferred.
- Flexibility while being able to wear multiple hats and work with various departments within the company.
- Has the ability to diagnose, R&R general automotive parts. DIY is a must.
- Familiar with OEM Volvo parts lookup/catalog or other technical publications needed to source and cross reference parts.

Warehouse Position Part Time 24-32 hrs per week
We're currently hiring for a part time position in our warehouse located close to the PDX airport. Operating hours are from 7:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday. Work hours can be discussed prior to hiring.

- Putting material away in proper locations throughout the warehouse
- Daily housekeeping duties- Count and sort inbound material
- Possess great attention to detail and organization-Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
- Forklift training/certification is a bonus.
