I am currently race preparing a 1969 142s and would welcome advice on the best parts to fit be they IPD or others. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The car is currently fitted with a B20b with twin 40 DCOE Webers, steel timing gears and an r-type cam. I am going to fully race prepare for classic car racing and would welcome any sensible comments. Tim

I currently have the '71 IPD Volvo in my possession. It was stored for a number of years and about 3 years ago, was stolen, and lightly crunched. My buddy and I fully restored it and have it back in original condition. It hasn't been driven more than 75-100 miles since IPD sold it. MVP Volvo shop in Multnomah has it this week and we are cleaning up the fuel injection and tank. I would be happy to show it to anyone interested. My email is mikegla@gmail.com

I own a 73 142 with IPD springs and bars HD billys etc and and a new motor . Would love to read all the specs and more pics on this car. 140s are the unloved Volvos but I love mine from handling to looks. Any more info on this would be great or a fully written up feature on it. I was a proud owner of a new 71 142 E. It was the gold with black leather interior. I put aprox 88k on it,( That included several Friday night rallys ) and then sold it to my father who drove it for several more years, then with a family on the way I let it leave the family. But it found a great home in Vancouver Wa. When that person decided to pass it along, He gave us the first option to buy it back. I let it go. One of my Bigger regrets! Oh well. I have not driven a car sence, that I have enjoyed more than that one. There is something very special about buying & driving a limited edition car off the show room floor.Then receive the slient but powerful Thumbs up eveytime you got gas. Bought a '71 145s w/ an old IPD DGV Weber. Rebuilding the carb, installing a Sach's clutch,replaced the clutch cable, new points (elect. ign. to come!) All for $450!!! Want to find the other guage cluster, a couple factory junk yard fresh wheels, an OD, and beefier sway bar, ect... Any way to shorten up that draw bar for a shifter?

I have got a 142E-71 in my posession this summer, imported from the US. Bought it in Norway, the guy who imported it lost interest due to lots of work to do with it. It has rust free chassis, but everything else was run down and sunburned. In prosess of getting it up to a satisfactory technical standard so it can be registered and get numberplates on it. The car will be renovated at a later stage to top standard and fitted with a NOS AC kit I have for it. As mentioned above on this string, this limited viechle is worth putting some work and money into. Such a cool car!

I am still the proud original owner of a stock 71 142E that I purchased in feb. of 71. The car now has 100k orig. miles and looks like the day I bought it at the now defunct autosport volvo in camp hill pa. I bought the car in january, but the dealer would not let me have it until after the harrisburg auto show. I still love the car, my leather seats are perfect, except the drivers seat is showing some wear no rips it runs great and the trim rings are still actually nice. it is blue grey with stick overdrive. painted in 78 because of bad factory paint, still looks new, love this hen s tooth of a car It is the last new car I purchased.
