The company FAG (FAG Kugelfischer Georg Schafer AG, Schweinfurt, Germany) was founded in 1883 in Germany by Frederick Fisher, who developed a special grinding machine for mass production of precision ball bearings. After the death of Frederick Fisher, the company acquired another ball bearing manufacturer - George Schaefer, and the rest as they say is history.
