Green, Gray or Black? Expansion Tank Cap

The overflow cap takes the place of a conventional radiator cap and provides an overpressure relief system to protect the radiator and hoses. Gas powered 200 series use the Black cap rated at 1 1psi / 75 KPA. All gas powered 700/900 were originally equipped with a Gray cap, but Volvo has superseded the Gray cap to a more reliable Green cap rated at 22 psi/152 KPA.

NOTE: When using our high efficiency 3 row radiator, the Black cap is required to prevent damage to the radiator.
