Pollen Filter

This is an amazing filter, much heavier filter media than the OEM paper filter. Kind of a tight fit, both in width and height, but got it in with minimal effort. The price is amazing compared to the OEM (Behr?) overall a great value. My only concern is the extra density of the filter media may impede airflow and shorten the fan blower life... Does anyone know if the IAQS fan blower is the same as the one without the IAQS?

Fits in the front slot like the oem filter. As mentioned in previous reviews it is a bit
longer than the original but the bottom cover screws back on with no trouble. Great
filter for less than half the price of the oe paper filter!

Easy to install, perfect fit in the front slot (as specified by the instructions). Replaced the OEM filter quite easily, and I highly recommend doing this filter change. Increased A/C & heating effectiveness by about 25%. You replace the filter in your home HVAC system, why not replace the one in your car too!

The filter was a bit longer than the housing (about 1/4 inch), but I was still able to close the cover properly without much trouble. This filter is thicker than the flimsy paper OEM filter which was replaced and the charcoal is a nice added feature. Definitely a great service item, especially at this price!

First of all let me say that this filter works, and it works good. I installed and no less
than 20 seconds later, the air quality was much, much better. The hardest part about
installing is putting the filter back in once the old one is removed; taking out the floor
matt seems to help out in installing. Best price/performance I have seen!

I just replaced this filter today, and found that it did NOT fit properly into the rearmost slot.....it's too thick. I shaved off some of the hard paper frame with the hopes that it would go in easier, and it did.....just not all the way without distorting the paper frame. So I just installed it into the forward most slot (knock the plastic inhibitor bar out of the slot first), and it went up into place all the way no problem. I gotta say that the original Volvo filter (made by Behr) has nothing on this one; this one is heavier and the filter media is beefier and firmer. My old filter was full of pine needles, dirt, hair, etc., so it did its job, but I think this one will do better. Overall, I would highly recommend this filter as an excellent cost effective quality replacement. Just be patient and use your head when doing the job; then you won't destroy the product!! It's a good product!! Also, I was most pleased with the shipping timeframe..... I had to wait until the wheel bearing came into stock, but once that arrived then it was at my location VERY quickly!! I'm very happy.

I replaced my old filter with IPD's charcoal one today. One year since taking delivery and 9,000 miles. The old filter was dirty and there was a fair amount of debris in it. It was difficult getting the IPD filter in but I finally got it in; however, the plastic piece on the back of the insert (closest to the engine) was bent after inserting it and I do not know what shape the filter took after inserting. I did notice much better air quality as soon as I started the car. For this price I may replace it in 6 months.

I got this for our 07 XC90 with IAQS. Fit just fine. The filter pleats run the opposite of the OEM filter. Makes flexing the filter to fit it between the floor and the filter housing a task requiring patience. Don't force it - it will fit and it works!

Replaced my old factory filter with this filter and what a difference, no musk smell and no foul exhaust fumes from the car ahead. It was a little tricky getting the filter in the slot but not overwhelming. Trick is to push the plastic seperator between the two filter slots abit away from the filter. I found it kept getting caught on the back. It slid in easily after I held the plastic back a bit. Worth the money and as always IPD gave instruction with the filter that were helpful too.

Poor quality made in china product. The filter came apart during installation. Housing distorted when inserted into slot. Discarded in the trash bin and replaced with OEM filter. Very disapointed with quality of product.

ipd customer service response: The equivilent Volvo filter is $47 and ours is $16.50 (Jan 2008) We really have very little complaints with these filters. We are sorry it did not meet your expectations, but at this price point, you won't get an OEM filter.
