Wrench worked just fine for me. Can't beat the price. Thanks!

Used with my 3/8 torque wrench & didn't have any problems removing or replacing the filter housing.

The weld broke the 2nd time I used the cap. I then took it to work and did a proper weld job and it has been fine ever since. It can be difficult to remove the wrench from the plastic filter housing. IPD needs to do more than just have a spot weld to hold the socket fitting to the cap.
ipd customer service response: ipd does offer two different styles of tool. The T261 is our more economical version and the T1275OS is a heavy duty style that we manufacture.

This product worked great. My oil filter cover was extremely tight and overtorqued, but this attachments loosened it up with no problem or breakage. Definitely worth the money over the premium ones in my opinion.

POJ, don't waste your money on this one. The weld broke the first time I use it. I have to call a friend to bring his over to save me. I drained the oil and started to take the filter off and it broke. ipd should take this off their inventory. I called and ipd sent me two more, now I have three of them, may be I can trade them back for the 40.00 one.

Works like a charm. You should know that you need a 3/8 torque wrench. I bought mine and it allows you to tighten the housing to the 25 Nm recommended amount. In combination they are all you need to take that cap on and off whenever you want. The mechanic that last did the oil change had tightened the cap too much and it took a lot of elbow grease to unscrew it, but it's not done.
The only problem I have is that my cap wrench is stuck to the actual cap. Can't remove it. If IPD has any suggestions on how to do that I will be very grateful. I'll check on this a few days later.

Add me to the list of those satisfied with the low-cost filter cap wrench. Mine has worked just fine, but I suppose if someone over-tightened the cap the previous oil change, then maybe they might have trouble getting it off. I always use a torque wrench on both the filter cap and the drain plug.

Don't hesitate to save money - just go with the HD Wrench! I went with this one first and it tore out immediately.
If you lift the car high (on a hydraulic lift) you could probably use this wrench without putting too much torque on it to break it. But just spring for the heavy duty wrench instead - you'll thank me later.

This wrench is good for the money. There is a slight looseness in the socket joint, but if you do not over torque the cover it really is not a problem. My Volvo dealer had over-torqued the cover to the point this cap wrench slid half way around the cap rise before it broke loose. I tighten the cap to 25Nm and have not had a serious problem since with this wrench or the cap. If you expect high quality, then buy the pro version of the tool. If you are changing your oil, every 3000, then this is the one to buy.

This tool is perfect for a DIY to work on their daily driver vehicle -- thus my posting a comment in contrast to the previous negative comments. I have used this wrench for the last 5 oil changes without issue. I am also cognizant of the required torque value to prevent damage to the plastic carrier...
