Product Description

Timing belt maintenance has never been so important since the 5 cylinder ‘white’ engine was introduced into the US in 1993. Unlike the ‘red’ engine of days gone past, these new engines are ‘interference type’ so a broken timing belt means valve and piston damage, an expensive alternative to belt replacement. Intervals for replacement vary from 50K to 70K depending on model year. Our kit includes the belt with a DVD instructional that includes complete removal and installation procedure plus a written installation guide. With our new cam-locking tool perfect alignment can be ensured and no more potential for the camshaft to jump while the belt is off. This job used to intimidate even the most skilled individuals, but with IPD helping you out, timing belt maintenance is back in your control.

Potential Product Fitment Issues

This belt is ONLY for engines with the automatic tensioner, not the mechanical tensioner. There are two ways to help identify fitment to your engine. It is for chassis number 131155-on (mid-year 1994). The engine serial number is up to 1266127.

The belt has 148 teeth and is 28mm wide. (The earlier belt has 143 teeth and is 21mm wide).
