Dont let this install intimidate you 1. Remove wheel 2. Remove Brake caliper, hang out of the way. 3 Remove brake dust sheild 4. Remove brake Disc 5. Remove 3 bolts for ball joint, end toward wheel on control arm. ( you will need to apply upward pressure to control arm to get the bigger nut off) 6. Disconnect control arm and, pull axle out of bearing. 7. Remove 4 bolts holding the bearing in place. 8 Reverse directions.
This was for a 2001 S60, very easy, though it looks a bit daunting.

I replaced the upper spring seat along with the strut with this heavy duty one after seeing the condition of the old one. I believe that heavy duty upper spring seat and along with replacing the struts will last much longer than the standard one.

I replaced my cheap generic spring seats with these IPD heavy duty ones and what a difference. The noises are gone and handling has improved. These are built much better and heavier than the ones I took out. The cheap ones didn't last me more than 8 months. I installed them along with the Sachs/Boge struts and I could feel a drastic improvement.

Just replaced these bushings along with the rear bushings on my 02 s60 T5 74k miles. The old ones were worn out and transmitted a lot of vibration into the cabin when accelerating. This change made all the difference in the world. The suspension is now tight with that satisfying solid thud when going over bumps. IPD customer service was impeccable and parts were shipped and delivered right on time. I saved $75.00 off what my volvo shop wanted to charge for the parts. I didnt take it to the local Volvo dealer as they refused to allow me to order my own parts. I will definitely use IPD from now on.

I replaced these bushings last weekend, along with the rear bushings. Easy press out and back in, but a whore to get the control arms back down to refit the balljoint studs, and align the CV joint into the hub at the same time.....helps to have someone helping by standing on a bar to get the arms down while you get the CV joint back in and the ball joint stud in. Other than that, I have to say that I've never had a tighter front end than I do now. You can really feel the solidness of the car on all road conditions.

I installed these while doing my struts/springs on my S60 and you can tell they're better. I know they're supposed to be a stock replacement, and the fit is perfect and exactly like stock, but the materiel feels heavier and stronger. My old mounts were bent to hell (After only 50k miles!!!), so if you're planning on changing the struts/springs or you're hearing some noise from your front end go ahead and replace these, you won't regret it.

I blew out the factory spring seat of my 2000 V70XC and put the top of the strut right into the hood. Ouch. After toning down my off road driving, I called ipd and ordered a pair of Bilstein HD struts and the new HD spring seats. What a difference! These things are amazing. The control and response is like night and day. I recommend this set-up to all V70 drivers.

I had a pair of these installed today on our 1998 V70 GLT (120k miles). The ten years of driving had caused the original seats to crack/rot away. The difference in driving with new HD upper srping seats is phenonemal - so smooth. The independant that put them in thought they were well built. If you have a front end metal on metal rattle especially over sharp bumps (that in our case was aggravated by freezing cold weather) it could be your upper spring mounts.
