Sport Springs (ipd)

With specific applications for sedans and wagons we've designed these springs to have a drop of about 1.75 inch in the front and 1.25 inch in the rear, giving your 240 a more aggressive stance. The lowered center of gravity and increased spring rate work together to tighten your ride, improve handling and reduce body lean in the corners.

Combine our springs with a set of our ipd Anti-Sway Bars and your suspension is ready to handle whatever the pavement throws your way!

Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle.
Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations.

We offer some products with multiple brand options. Products ending with an "E" suffix indicate Economy (non-OE) brands.

When you purchase springs that change the factory design and geometry verify the condition of and replace:
- suspension bushings front and rear (urethane or not is up to you - research)
- ball joints, outer and inner steering rack tie rods
- check, adjust, clean, and pack fresh, new grease in the front wheel bearings
- Replace all driveling fluids - tranny and rear differential fluids, verify no leaks.
- Research, research, RESEARCH!
- If you buy rubber (motor mount, suspension bushing) or electrical auto parts, verify it is made in the USA or Europe ONLY. Chinese and East Indian quality is unsafe.
- Finally, if you buy these springs, the adjustable torque rods and adjustable panhard (track rod) rod is MANDATORY or driveline alignment suffers and premature wear of driveline components wear prematurely. IPD sales did not tell me about this.
- If you have an 1989 or newer 240, your 240 may be equipped with the ABS strut tubes. Bilstien HDs WON'T fit into these tubes. This fact has been known since 1989 by Volvo, Bilstein, and various vendors and only in the last few years has this fact become commonly known. To trade up and keep your ABS strut tubes, buy KONIs.

I'm happy. The ride is firm with the Bilstein HD shocks added, but not too firm. Greatly improved cornering and responsive attitude. There is of course more road noise transfer with the firmer springs but the trade-off, I think, is well worth it. Also, the lower stance makes the Brick look a bit sporty.

All in all, these springs are worth the money and time spent on installation. I'm usually not happy with spending $250 on anything, but these springs put a smile on my face when I first drove my 240 after installing them.

All in all, a VERY GOOD BUY. I only wish you could actually see them, as they are really striking, with the blue color! When you do this upgrade, don't "skimp", since you already have things apart, consider replacing all mounts & shocks & struts, too. I went with OEM grade shocks & struts & they were relatively inexpensive. The car does have a more aggressive stance, and with my 17" x 8" VOXX wheels, I do get rubbing at full lock (typical w/ most lowered Volvos & plus sized wheels) in the front, and the back has VERY little clearance (about 1/4 of an inch, or less!), but it does not rub. Any lower & I would certainly rub.

BUY THEM!

Great upgrade for handling. body roll is almost gone and help with better control. The change in the height does give it a little more of a "sporty" look and is noticeably lower. Thanks again iPd!

These were an excellent upgrade over stock. They could use to be about another .5-1" lower and a little bit stiffer for my taste. However, given the ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE handling improvement with these springs combined with the 25mm sway bar kit, I cannot complain much.
