Ate Super Blue Performance Brake Fluid & Ate TYP 200 DOT 4
Most Volvo models use DOT 3 brake fluid as original equipment, however we prefer to use a DOT 4 fluid to get the best performance and longevity. Ate is the original supplier for many Volvo brake parts and their fluid is unsurpassed. If you’re thinking of replacing your brake lines or pads or just want to get better performance out of your stock brake system Ate TYP 200 DOT 4 is a great product to make bleeding your brakes worth your time. Don’t replace your brake fluid with stock fluid if you have the opportunity to go to a performance brake fluid like Ate TYP 200 or Super Blue.

Note: You will need 2 liters to do a complete fluid change on most models. Remember, brake fluid attracts water, so it’s recommended by Volvo to flush the fluid every two years as preventative maintenance Ate Super Blue brake fluid is a great product for both the enthusiast driver and competitive club driver. One hundred percent synthetic fluid is specifically designed to resist the high temperatures of racing brakes and clutch systems. The elevated boiling point of Ate Super Blue brake fluid (593°F) enables effective braking even under the extreme conditions of competition. The very high wet boiling point (420°F) is superior to conventional brake fluids and provides a particularly efficient braking system in rain and high humidity environments.

Ate brake fluid (1ltr/qt.) ATEMR-51000Reg. $12.95  LITER

240 Rear Caliper Rebuild Kits
When replacing your brake pads, make sure to check the condition of the caliper piston boots and seals. If you notice tears, or signs of a leaking piston (wet spots on bottom of caliper), now is a good time to rebuild them. Our kits include the piston seals, boots, and bleeder caps to help keep your calipers in smooth working condition. If you flush your brake fluid and replace the rubber components on a regular basis, your calipers should last a good long while!

200 series 1975-77 does both rear girling calipers (1) MR-273114Reg. $25.53  Each
200 series 1978-93 does one rear ATE caliper (2) FTE or ATE FTE or ATEMR-272604Reg. $28.99  Each

(1) includes: piston seals, boots, bleeder caps
(2) (includes: piston seals, boots, pad pins)

Piston Tool for Front Sliding Calipers
Compress the brake caliper piston easily. Remove the brake pads, and use this tool to evenly compress the piston. For use with 700 and 900 series models.

Piston tool CTAMR-T1465Reg. $8.32  Each

Brake Hardware Kits
700 and 900 series Volvos have a history of front brake problems. Part of the weakness of these systems relates to the slider style calipers used on these cars. The rubber boots on these sliders will sometimes tear or degrade from heat and allow lubricated parts to be exposed to the elements. Once the grease washes out it’s only a matter of time before the calipers begin to malfunction. Binding hardware, dragging brake pads and rotor warping are only some of the potential outcomes. The 200 series doesn’t have as many problems but if you need these parts, we’ve got them. These kits do not include parts for caliper pistons.

200 Series Brake Hardware Kits
1978-93 Front Girling (for both calipers) MR-272691Reg. $7.62  Each
1978-93 Rear Ate (for both calipers) MR-272642Reg. $8.11  Each
700 and 900 Series Brake Hardware Kits

Brakleen
If you’ve never used Brakleen you’ll be amazed at how effective it is at degreasing and cleaning grimy brake system parts. It works so well as a degreaser that we commonly use it to clean up other greasy parts. Excellent for preparing surfaces for gasket or seal replacement. Also works great to help locate oil leaks (use it to quickly clean off any suspected leaky areas for inspection). Brakleen quickly removes brake fluid, grease, oil and other contaminants from brake linings, pads, calipers, rotors etc.
Helps brakes last longer and perform more efficiently. Cleans fast/dries fast/no residue. Degreases instantly. Non-flammable. Works without disassembly. One 19-oz can should be enough for most brake jobs, but you might want to get 2 or 3 cans to have handy for other projects once you see how well it works.

Brakleen 19oz. aerosol* CRCMR-05089Reg. $4.50  Each

Sil-Glyde Brake Lube
Simply apply a thin layer of this lubricant to the back-side plate of disc brake pads, to anti-squeal shims, caliper slides, bushings, boots, and seals. Enough lube for several cars.
Warning: Keep lubricant off pad friction material and rotor surfaces.

Brake lubricant (0.7oz.) MR-BK3Reg. $4.44  Each
