With summer in full swing my vision of the perfect hybrid redblock motor is finally starting to bloom. Like all projects, the delays keep coming and the inevitable issues of a project car have been knocked off the list one by one. Since the last update the motor has been installed, removed and refitted a couple times – test clearances here, adjust mounting there, repeat! After all the adjustments were made and clearances checked, the flywheel, clutch and Getrag transmission were all installed and I dropped it all in the car as a single unit. Once in there I finalized the new transmission mount for the trans on the sectioned cross member that our resident Fabricator/Customer Service Rep Ron Wyman made for me. Final dressing of the motor included plumbing the new stainless oil feed and return lines for the turbo, installing the billet Canton Racing oil filter relocation/oil cooling parts and associated lines, installing the RSI twin scroll header and intake manifold and test fitting the new timing belt and gear set up. It all checks out so progress moves forward! With the engine now in the car the new GT32 turbo was fitted to the RSI header and reclocked for proper inlet and outlet orientation in the car. Additionally I’ve mounted the new intercooler to replace the stock unit which is simply not up to the task for my motors needs. While there’s still a long way to go, the progress has been solid. The home stretch for the new motor is now firmly in my sights and I’m getting really excited about doing some serious damage to the rear tires…. Turbo Performance Camshaft The ipd turbo performance cam provides increased power and torque on stock and modified B21FT, B23FT and B230FT engines. Compared to the stock T grind cam which starts losing power after 5000 rpm, the ipd turbo cam keeps on pulling up through the power band. We have seen 0-60mph times on a mildly modified 240 turbo change from around 10 seconds to just over 7 seconds and 1/4 mile times have dropped nearly 3 seconds. Expect to see an average of 15-25HP increase on intercooled cars depending on modifications. Cams are ground on a new cam billet. • Cam Intake lift .466” (11.95mm) intake duration 256° • Cam Exhaust lift .466” (11.95mm) exhaust duration 256° • Overlap – 32°| 240, 740, 760, 940 series | turbo 1981-95 | turbo performance cam | | MR-0256 | Reg. $215.00 | | Each |

Adjustable Cam Gear Our cam gear provides the edge in performance for your B21, B23, B230 engines (1976-92). Adjustable in 2.5 degree increments up to 10 degrees, either advanced or retarded, and it weighs less than half the factory gear! A fixed single piece, this gear is adjusted by lining up the desired inscribed timing mark with the factory timing mark and placing the corresponding dowel hole on the cam. This should not be confused with ignition timing. By advancing the gear you will gain low-end power at the expense of upper-range power and by retarding the gear you will gain upper range power with a like reduction in low-end power. This gear provides the widest range of adjustment from high RPM turning race engines to the big bore non-turbo motors with lots of low end grunt! Our new gear is hard anodized for long life and tested for durability. A perfect match for our Turbo camshafts or even use it with your stock cam.| Adjustable cam gear for 1976-92 engines | | MR-2A4628 | Reg. $104.95 | | Each |

Aquamist Intercooling Aquamist keeps your turbocharged engine cool when you’re pushing it hard, by injecting water into the intake stream the resulting evaporation helps lower intake charge air temps. This means more power even on those hot summer days so your engine won’t be held back by heat.
