If you know ipd, you know that we began pioneering anti-sway bar set-ups for Volvos more than 40 years ago. Did you know we make anti-sway bar packages for other vehicles too? In some cases, the original manufacturer has copied our designs and integrated them into their own production line or we are providing them with our bars as original equipment. Think about that. Our bars were so superior to the original equipment that they BECAME original equipment.
Cars continue to evolve, and handling characteristics that were once available only on high-end exotics are now commonplace. We originally developed our anti-sway bars to enhance handling performance (which they do). However, these are the same sway bars many Volvo drivers install as safety improvements. They’ll give your Volvo handling characteristics that put it in a handling class well above where it is now and get it well on its way to handling with the same panache as much sportier machinery while retaining its Volvo identity. You won’t believe the improvement and you’ll wish you’d bought a set sooner. If you don’t believe us, ask anyone who’s tried them! Satisfaction Guaranteed, period. They really are that good. THE suspension performance part for any Volvo. Anti-Sway Bars have been ipd’s best seller for over 40 years and represent the most significant return on investment of any product we sell. It’s often remarked by customers and employees alike that “If you only buy one thing ever from ipd, it should be Anti-Sway Bars for your Volvo.” Anti-Sway Bars will drastically reduce the amount of body roll your car experiences around corners and increase ride comfort to boot. All this translates into much more precise handling and control over your Swede with absolutely zero trade-off in ride quality. All ipd safety anti-sway bar packages are built using the finest materials available, including, high memory 4140 cold-rolled chro-moly steel, lifetime warrantied polyurethane bushings and grommets and premium grade hardware. | | Imagine my surprise when I noticed a difference just pulling out of the driveway after I installed them!!!!!!The ride was smoother.YES they improved the handling, but I NEVER would have guessed in a million years the fact that they made the car ride smoother over bumps and such.WOW! - Carlton Simpson from Washington,D.C. These sway bars really are just as good as everyone says. I wanted them for years, and finally 'bit the bullet', just wish I had done it sooner. Got the Bilstein HD struts and some chassis braces and new bushings too...it's like a totally different car. After fifteen years of waiting and wondering if I should make these upgrades, my 240 is FINALLY how I've always wanted it. Keep your 240 on the road...these cars are too great to send off the the junkyard. Upgrade old cars, don't replace the whole thing with a new car having no personality! Please note that IPD's photos show the sway bars as being "goldish" in color, but mine came from IPD painted in a bright blue color. I like the color, and you can't really see them when they are installed on the car, unless you look underneath...However, if you're buying them, and if you care about the color, you might want to call IPD to see if you are getting gold or blue. Awesome product. -ZP from Carrboro, NC I bought a set of these for my car and I have to say that I'm very impressed. When I installed them I had never worked on my car before, but it still only took me about 90 minutes to install them. The car handles completely differently. It feels like it's completely flat no matter what I do. It's hard to judge just how crazy the turn is sometimes, because you can't feel anything. Ridiculously tight turns and great handling. Definitely worth it! -Adam S. from Florida These swaybars, in combination with the TME springs I got from IPD, are an excellent way to make you Volvo act like a sports car 'round the corners. There isn't anything I can say to explain it; find someone who has them and take a ride, you'll be buying some shortly thereafter! - Brent Pratt from Portland, Or | | Sport Springs by ipd Over the last several years we’ve been hearing from our customers that our TME sport springs, or lowering coils as they’re sometimes called, still left the car a little higher and a tad softer than what they were after. Many customers even cut our sport springs to achieve the stance they wanted. Based on that feedback we’re now happy to carry our new ipd sport springs. With specific applications for sedans and wagons we’ve designed the front springs to be 3/8” lower in the front than the TME springs and changed the spring rate to about 5% stiffer than the TME springs. The result is a drop of about 1.75” in the front and 1.25” in the rear, giving your Volvo a more aggressive stance. The lowered center of gravity and increased spring rate work together to tighten your ride, improve handling and reduce body lean in the corners. Combine our springs with a set of our ipd anti-sway bars and your suspension is ready to handle whatever the pavement throws your way!

Adjustable Torque Rods Torque rods are one of the most highly stressed components in the rear drive train. Heavy acceleration and vehicles with higher than stock performance have been known to bend and in some cases break the factory torque rods. Our new heavy duty torque rods adjust to fit the three different lengths found on the 200 series throughout production. For vehicles with modified ride height, the adjustability of the torque rod can bring the driveline angle into spec by rotating the differential back to its original orientation. Great for vehicles with a one-piece driveline. Each rotation provides a length change of 0.100 inches. Kit includes a pair of torque rods with polyurethane bushings and inner sleeves. Assembled and ready to bolt on. |
| Adjustable Panhard Rods Bringing your rear axle back into alignment is now within your reach with ipd’s adjustable panhard rods. Adjustable panhard rods allow for lateral location of the axle from left to right. This can be very useful for vehicles with modified ride height that causes the axle to shift to one side. | 240 series | 1975-93 | | | MQ-8K0240 | Reg. $139.95 | | Each | | 700 series non-IRS | 1983-92 | | | MQ-8K0700 | Reg. $139.95 | | Each | | 940 series non-IRS | 1991-95 | | | MQ-8K0700 | Reg. $139.95 | | Each |
