Quick update on our 544 Vintage Restoration Project
Our shop manager Jeremy Sells and our Volvo Tech Elliot McLain pulled the motor to diagnose a light knock and found a bad rod bearing, so we sent the engine out for machining and will rebuild it. This put us bit behind schedule for displaying it at our annual open house May 16th, but we may still display it in restoration state if the body & paint is completed by then. We also sent out the suspension to be stripped and powder coated gloss black. The body shop was amazed at how well the body had held up for its age. It was still pretty straight and has minimal rust and bondo. We'll continue to post progress on the 544 project page of our website.CLICK HERE FOR THE WHOLE STORY.
