Watertight Fuse Holder System Could Save You a Tow Bill!

For owners of 1982-89 non-turbo 240 series Volvos, here’s a chance to put an end to intermittent electrical problems with our watertight fuse holder system. With the Bosch® LH fuel injection system, current is supplied from the battery to an exposed blade style fuse. This addresses the problem.

The fuse is located about a foot behind the battery on the driver’s side inner fender. Over time, corrosion of the fuse holder causes problems with the electrical system, including starting difficulties and intermittent stalling of the engine. Visual clues of corrosion in your 240 are discolored connections and a deformed or melted plastic fuse holder.

Our waterproof replacement will put an end to this problem by concealing the fuse and terminals from water and corrosive gases. Also included are connectors and heat-shrink tubing to prevent the splice from corroding and a new 25-amp fuse. Don’t be fooled by similar looking systems. We tested several, and this is the only one we found to be water-tight.

240 series non-turbos 1982-89 MU-3E0240Reg. $16.50  Each

Adjustable and Stock Voltage Regulators

If your Volvo has been fitted with after-market lighting equipment, a high powered stereo or other electrical accessories, your charging system may not be up to the task. Our adjustable voltage regulator will allow you to preset the operating voltage of the charging system and keep the system voltage stable.

This can help in two ways; you’re able to adjust the voltage to a higher-than-normal level to help your lights stay bright while your car is using its heater, wipers, etc., and you can also prevent voltage spikes after startup, which can lead to blown bulbs. Directly compatible with applications fitted with Bosch alternators; also available for internally regulated alternators found on later models.

Battery Accessories

When replacing the battery cable is not an option, use these high-quality cable end clamps. The price of the original Volvo battery cable is high. So, when the cable end is broken or corroded away, you need to either replace the entire cable or find a good connector. Finding that quality connector can be a problem when replacement is needed. This connector has a hidden allen set screw that is tightened from below. It looks like a factory cable end when installed.

While removing the terminals for repair, replace or install the color-coded anti-corrosion rings. Red for positive and green for ground make connecting test leads and jumper cables quick and identifying them easy. They also prevent battery acid from corroding the terminals. For the best possible contact between the post and terminal, clean the post and cable with the wire brush tool.

Cable end terminal repair MU-3E5501Reg. $6.95  Each
Anti-corrosion terminal rings MU-3E0608Reg. $2.00  Each
Battery post and terminal cleaner tool MU-T147Reg. $4.95  Each
