240 Series Sport Springs by ipd

Over the last several years we’ve been hearing from our 240 customers that our TME sport springs, or lowering coils as they’re sometimes called, still left the car a little higher and a tad softer than what they were after. Many customers even cut our sport springs to achieve the stance they wanted. Based on that feedback we’re now happy to announce our new ipd Sport Springs. With specific applications for sedans and wagons we’ve designed the front springs to be 3/8” lower in the front than the TME springs and changed the spring rate to about 5% stiffer than the TME springs. The result is a drop of about 1.75” in the front and 1.25” in the rear, giving your 240 a more aggressive stance. The lowered center of gravity and increased spring rate work together to tighten your ride, improve handling and reduce body lean in the corners. Combine our springs with a set of our ipd Anti-Sway Bars and your suspension is ready to handle whatever the pavement throws your way!

Rear Camber Kit for S60, V70 and XC90 2001-2007

ipd’s new rear camber bushing allows you to adjust for excessive rear camber that can cause premature tire wear and poor braking performance. Typically excessive negative rear camber occurs when lowering a vehicle via sport springs although, some stock vehicles can also require adjustment. Since there is no factory provision for rear camber adjustment ipd has developed an eccentric offset bushing that provides up to 1 degree of camber adjustment (negative or positive) to help correct your alignment problems. Not only will this alleviate poor tire wear it can also restore lost braking performance by increasing the contact surface of the tire to the road. Be sure to have your vehicle aligned before installing these bushings so that you can have a baseline to adjust from. If it’s been more than 6 months since your alignment angles were checked, consider having them re-aligned. ipd strongly recommends professional installation to ensure the proper amount of adjustment is obtained.

“I just got the rear camber bushings installed today and now my alignment numbers are solidly within spec! Plus, I had the old bushings so these new stiffer bushings have also reduced side hop and the whole car feels more stable over bumps. Thanks again for coming out with these. You’ve solved my constant worrying of shredding my tires and having to rotate them every 2000 miles.”

Sport Springs by TME Sweden

Sport springs, or lowering springs as they are often called improve the handling by lowering the center of gravity and reducing body movement with an increased spring rate (stiffer.) Sport springs also increase firmness more than any other component, so keep these attributes in mind when considering this upgrade.

The other use of sport springs is to attain a low aggressive look that sets your car apart from the masses with a sporty low profile. ipd sport springs will lower your Volvo approximately 1 to 1-1/4” (25mm) and the spring rate is increased approximately 10%-20%.

Eibach Springs

The main difference between TME springs and our Eibach applications is that the Eibachs are dual rate. Eibach Pro-Kit springs utilize a dual rate progressive design to be as soft as possible while still being as firm as possible. The smooth, softer initial characteristic improves traction and provides comfortable cruising while the sportier and firmer final rate reduces body roll and is more responsive under cornering, braking and accelerating. Eibach springs provide exceptional handling and precise vehicle responsiveness and stability with minimal effect to the ride quality.
