Brake Shims

Stop the squeal with brake shims.Simply insert the shim between the pad and caliper piston to prevent corrosion and significantly reduce the build up of gunk that leads to brake noise.
Sil-Glyde Brake Lube

Volvos are famous for their squeaky brakes. Help quiet yours - apply to the backside of the pad, and the pins that hold the pads in place. Simply apply a thin layer of this lubricant to the back-side plate of disc brake pads, to anti-squeal shims, caliper slides, bushings, boots, and seals. Won't harm rubber seals in calipers. Enough lube for several cars.
Dirty Brake Fluid. The Real Bad Guy
Brake fluid naturally collects water from the air that surrounds it. That’s why it always pays to use fluid from a sealed container. Brake fluid should always be very clear and clean. If it’s not, then there is water in your brake system. In harsh environments this can be needed every year. The little tiny water droplets that are suspended in the fluid can suddenly vaporize under hard usage. This is why you find yourself needing to pump the brakes when they get hot. If you have had a situation involving the pedal failing under hard use and not responding to pumping, CHANGE YOU BRAKE FLUID.
The little tiny water droplets that are suspended in the fluid are slowly and methodically destroying your brake system. If your brake fluid is brown it isn’t because it’s burned. It’s millions of droplets of rusty water slowly eating your lines, calipers and master cylinder. CHANGE YOUR BRAKE FLUID.
Ate Super Blue Performance Brake Fluid & Ate TYP 200 DOT 4

Most Volvo models use DOT 3 brake fluid as original equipment, however we prefer to use a DOT 4 fluid to get the best performance and longevity. Ate is the original supplier for many Volvo brake parts and their fluid is unsurpassed. If you’re thinking of replacing your brake lines or pads or just want to get better performance out of your stock brake system Ate TYP 200 DOT 4 is a great product to make bleeding your brakes worth your time. Don’t replace your brake fluid with stock fluid if you have the opportunity to go to a performance brake fluid like Ate TYP 200 or Super Blue.
Note: You will need 2 liters to do a complete fluid change on most models. Remember, brake fluid attracts water, so it’s recommended by Volvo to flush the fluid every two years as preventative maintenance Ate Super Blue brake fluid is a great product for both the enthusiast driver and competitive club driver.
