ipd Anti-Sway Bars

The Best Upgrade You’ll Ever Make.

If you really enjoy driving your Volvo, but occasionally find yourself wishing it handled a little better, you should seriously consider having an ipd safety anti sway bar system installed. NOTE: Upgrading the anti-sway bars on these models is a skill level 3 procedure. We generally recommend professional installation as it is necessary to lower the engine sub-frame and a vehicle lift makes the job easier than doing it on jack stands. Although the experienced do it yourselfer can accomplish the install, you should consult the installation instructions before attempting this job to be certain it is within your mechanical abilities.

Front Camber Kits

During the course of vehicle operation, and especially with vehicle lowering, alignment angles tend to fall out of spec and need adjustment. Unfortunately front wheel drive Volvos don’t have any factory provided camber adjustments. Camber change has multiple effects on the suspension and steering geometry. Any camber change will affect tire wear. The further from 0 degrees the camber gets, the more inside or outside tire wear will occur. Some camber is desirable, and how much depends on your suspension setup. Negative camber tends to help turn in and cornering at mid to higher speeds. To help offset the outer tire wear associated with this, some techs will add some positive toe (wheels closer together at their leading edge). The additional toe helps to ensure vehicle tracks in a straight line and generally adds to stability. Our kit includes nuts and new bolts of a smaller diameter and with an eccentric on one of the bolt heads to provide the adjustment. Some light grinding or filing on the upper strut housing mounting hole allows for enough movement to gain up to 2.0 degrees of camber. Installation is a breeze with the included plastic fitment pin to aid in concentric hole enlargement of the strut mounting ears. Instructions and all necessary parts are included to do one strut.
