Aluminum Alloy Valve Covers

A beautiful alloy valve cover that not only enhances the appearance of your car’s engine, but reduces tappet noise and dissipates heat faster.

Made of cast aluminum, this cover is finished in a tough, textured black powder coat with machine surfaced ribs. Fits all B18 and B20 engines. The cover is designed to use the original Volvo filler cap and gasket.

ipd Performance Camshafts for Volvos: 1962-1975


If you car seems to be down on power and a compression test and a bit of tuning ensure that everything is well within spec, it may be time for a new camshaft. Unevenly worn lobes can cause a rough idle and can diminish the motor’s ability to create power at higher rpm’s. When choosing a cam, keep in mind that in most circumstances, performance and drive-ability often lie at opposite ends of the engine tuning spectrum. In the world of camshafts, bigger is not always better as the specs of your motor should determine what cam would be the most appropriate. Give our knowledgeable staff a call as we have proven recommendations for almost all applications. Please note that ipd warranties its cams only when installed with new lifters, available below.

Exhaust Header for 120, 140, & 1800 Vintage Volvos

Whether you want to add some pep to your pushrod Volvo, or you just need a replacement for your rusted out OE cast iron manifold, these will do the job. Shipped with a transit coating that will burn off at startup - for best results, order yours ceramic coated or paint with a hi-temp exhaust paint (we like ‘woodstove paint’ from the hardware store).

Mandrel bent 16 gauge steel, reduces to just over 2” ID after the collector. Note: Won’t match up to factory exhaust - you’ll need some custom work to connect it up.

If you know ipd, you already know that we’ve pioneered anti-sway bar setups for Volvos for more than 40 years. We make them for other vehicles too - and in some cases, the original manufacturer has copied our designs and integrated them into their own production line. Think about that. Our bars were proven so superior to the original equipment that they BECAME original equipment.

Cars continue to evolve and handling characteristics that were once available only on high end exotics are now commonplace. If you’re like us (and you must be, or you wouldn’t be reading this), you prefer to drive a Vintage Volvo rather than a newer, less interesting car.

The sway bars we started selling as performance improvements (which they are) are the same sway bars we’ve been selling as safety improvements (because they are). They’ll give your old Volvo handling characteristics that 1) put it in a class well above most other ‘old cars,’ and 2) get it well on its way to handling with the same panache as much newer machinery while retaining its Vintage charm.
