1972 142E. Originally built for auto-crossing in SCCA's "D Stock" class the rules of which basically state that you can do whatever you want to the car as long as the mods were available from the dealer when the car was originally sold. (Wheel choice was open). As you all know Volvo's aftermarket "R" division was quite extensive so my dad and I had a lot of fun following the rules! Approx 50k miles since car was completed in around 1990. Lightened, balanced, blueprinted engine. All internal parts replaced (not rods or crank). Block squared, decked, line-bored. Head milled, ported (chambers, intake, and exhaust) and cced. Steel timing gears with offset key (technically the key was a cheat so don't tell anyone). Our blueprint called for a custom ground Volvo K cam and thinnest head gasket which works beautifully with racing fuel- 7k+ revs. I now am running stock D and gasket.(Still very quick). Lighted flywheel balanced with crank and pressure plate. IPD's Borg and Beck clutch (remember those?). Complete rebuilt M41 including all new syncros. OD-- all new gaskets, seals, o- rings, upgraded drive pistons, new drive drum (you have to use clutch engage/disengage). Driveshaft from '74 wagon w/larger u-joints. Limited slip diff. Car has 4.10s in now, auto-crossed with 4.56 which will go with car. All new brake flex lines with upgraded 240 reduction valves. Front and rear sway bars with re-inforced lower A-frames. All suspension bushings were replaced. IPD springs, new Bilstiens. Painted by Miracle way back when. I never intended this to be a show car so I did not spend a lot of time on the body. I would say it is in fair/good shape. No dents. Two very small rust tumors. All original chrome, lenses, badging. Grille from 1970. Interior is in good original cond. 1970 Volvo 145 $5000... tacoma WA... not many of these around this car has a older restoration early 90's she's still very beautiful, has a lot of new stuff like fuel pump, starter,about 2000 miles on tires,alternator,h4 headlights, new brakes, electronic ignition, weber carb and ipd swaybars. i put a new 1975 engine in and new simons exhaust system....has a overdrive which doesn't work but i don't think its a hard fix rest of the gears are smooth, she also has a few dents and scratches and a good interior and of course a very rare stock roofrack malboogy165@olypen.com
