As far I can tell, they are incompatible with cars using both the GT strut-tower-to-firewall brace and the Cherry Turbo tower-to-tower cross-braces, unless you press longer studs into the upper bearings. It should work fine with normal upper bearing studs if you're only using one or the other, but my parents' cars have both styles, and didn't want to give one of them up. $45 for the IPD ones (unused aside from coming out of the bag and being test-fit), and $35 for the GT originals (they have some surface rust - see pictures), buyer pays shipping.

I have a 1978 264GL that originally had the B27F 6cyl engine and the 3 speed automatic transmission. I found the parts and replaced the automatic with the m46 manual w/ electric overdrive. This dropped the RPM's at 70mph from approx. 3600 to 2800. What a world of difference! I put 60K miles on this system before I deployed and the car sat idle. The engine died and I can't restore the car but I hate to see this transmission conversion go to waste. All the parts necessary to convert are available: bell housing, clutch and all hydraulic components, shifter, drive shaft, etc. Somebody with the B27F please find a good home for this. Silver w/ gray & black, cloth interior. It runs good but it could use a tune up. It definitely needs brakes and rotors turned and at least 2 rotors need to be replaced. But still stops just fine. It has a new fuel pump and accumulator and the tires have about 90% tread left. The tags are good until November, 2010. If you are a Volvo enthusiast, you will like this car because it has great potential for restoration or maybe you could turn it into a rally car. I would hate to see it striped for parts because it doesn't need much to make this Volvo are really decent ride. However, if parts are what you need, it's all there.
