Time has come to sell our 1971 Volvo 144 S. It is in remarkable cosmetic condition for an unrestored 44 year old car. We purchased the car in 2009 from the 3rd owner in Portland, Oregon. Fixed some minor issues and have enjoyed taking it to car shows and driving it a few weekends a year. The Good: -Car has documented about 175k miles, although the instrument cluster was swapped for higher miles unit by previous owner because fuel gauge wasn't working. (Problem turned out to be a faulty in tank sender) -Only rust is inside engine bay around battery tray -Interior 9 out of 10. Everything works except the radio and the dome light. -Exterior 8 out of 10, a few small blemishes as to be expected on the original paint of a 44 year old car. -Comes with refinished stock wheels with new tires with less than 1000 miles on them. (Wheels from 1st picture are no longer with the car). -IPD front 22mm sway bar -Vintage Hella H4 driving lights -Dual Cherry Bomb exhaust system (nice growl, not too obnoxious) -Rebuilt BW35 automatic transmission The Bad: -Windshield has an approximately 3 inch crack on passenger side, has not spread since the rock hit it. -Center console armrest needs recovering -Aftermarket steering wheel is in bad shape. We have the stock steering wheel and may put it back on as time allows. Car is currently being stored inside in Buffalo, MN. Can meet between Buffalo and Edina for showings. 1997 Volvo 850 T5 with 146,465 actual miles. I'm the 2nd owner of this car. The title is clean and in hand. It is fully loaded. I would consider this 850 to be in very very good condition even without taking its age into consideration. I've seen plenty of 5-10 year old cars in worse shape. There are no dents and no rust. There's one small scratch that on the rear fender. The other cosmetic blemish is a door trim piece that has a damaged corner.In the interior, the drivers side seat bolster is splitting like it does on pretty much all tan leather Volvo seats. You will not find a 850 in better condition. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one in similar shape. Turbo - rebuilt Volvo 18T from a v70r I believe. 1983 242 GLT Turbo with 2000 Ford 5.0 V8 and reman T5 manual. Limited slip rear from volvo diesel, Converse conversion, crappy interior primarily the leather front seats and door panels and carpet. New suspension, brakes, cooling, and lots more. Pegasus R wheel replicas from ipd, poly bushings, lots of new stuff, $15 k invested but still needs interior and has the original paint that is pretty much shot. The car runs and drives well. Some minor mechanical issues like the custom exhaust is vibrating against the bell housing and either the clutch cable or the throw out bearing is clattering around a bit. Anyway, i will tell you everything I can about the car. It is wicked fun to drive and with a paint job and interior redo it would look smokin. Very, very minor rust.
