Volvo V70/XC70 2001-2007 » Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Now you can experience the same rock-solid brake pedal feel that professional racers rely on. Standard brake hoses will experience some swelling under pressure, which results in a soft or spongy feeling in the brake pedal that increases as the car ages.

Teflon/Kevlar stainless-steel braided lines are comparable to those used on motorsports applications. Lines and fittings are engineered for precise fit. Lines come ready to install with no modifications necessary. Kits replace the original front and rear flexible brake lines. DOT approved.

Improve Brake Pedal Feel with ipd High Performance Stainless Steel Braided Brake Line Kits

Our braided brake line kits improve brake system feel and response in two ways. First, the material is much stronger than that found in the stock rubber lines, so swelling and expansion is virtually non-existent. Second, the volume of the each line is significantly reduced, so less pedal movement is required to activate and modulate the brakes, which equates to a more responsive and controllable feel.

ipd suggests professional installation. Brake system will need to be bled after installation.

Need a single replacement? Call! We’ve got ‘em, and they usually cost less than the stock rubber lines.

Beware!
On older cars like mine, a 2001 V70 2.3 EFI, the hard brakeline fittings which are brass get corroded inside the old rubber brake lines.
Even with line wrenches the hardline fittings were thrashed.
I had to replace both rear hard lines.
Yes, I did soak them with WD40 and Motorex Joker 440, still corrosion was so bad inside the fitting that the hard lines had to be removed from the car.
One thing more, the car came from New Jersey, not Kalifornia soo, maybe in wetter climates this issue rears its ugly head.

ipd customer service response: Salt used on the roads for de-icing causes all sorts of rust and corrosion issues on east coast cars.

Even Volvo dealers and mechanics will tell you that the R Volvo (Brembo) brakes are so good that they are hard to improve. So I thought: no major changes, just the lines.
When I got them installed, I thought my brakes were going to be harder and shorter. Not at all. I didn’t need to get used to them. You’d only notice how responsive they are under hard braking when you apply extreme pressure to your lines as the steel braid support does not expand. A couple of times I needed them and I noticed the ABS and especially the EBA system kicked-in in no time. This combined with ATE super blue racing brake fluid will give you a total piece of mind.

The real way to improve your braking! I am no pro. tester, but I am measuring 25-30 feet off of my 60-0, and that is with all stock brakes except these lines. The quickest, cheapest, easiest to install brake upgrade.
