K&N Typhoon Intake Built for performance and style, the Typhoon intake system is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit your S40, V50, C30 Volvo from 2004.5 and on. This intake is designed as a short ram intake which helps reduce the total length and restriction of the factory air intake system. This results in better tip in throttle response and increased power throughout the boost range. With an oversized High-Flow conical air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity, this extra surface area provides even more airflow at lower restriction than a standard K&N O/E replacement filter that is limited to the size of the factory air box. i just installed this last night on my 2009 V50 T5 with 2k miles. I hope it does not affect the warranty. It took longer than i thought as i was trying to be thorough and not make any mistakes. The instructions were well documented. The V50 does not have one EGR line supposed to tie into the intake pipe. I capped it. I did drop one bolt but got lucky on removing a corner of the engine shield. Patients is important. I doubt i will remove this before my lease is up. What to do with the removed parts? The growl is noticeable. I will try to report back on any mileage gain or performance noticed. I have used K&N systems on two of my previous vehicles with great success.

GET THIS!!! TODAY! :) This is my second modification to my 2008 C30v2. The first was the anti-rol bar. Something I became acclimated to quickly. The intake puts a smile on my face everytime I put my foot into it! Even my wife says 'wow' when she hears it! Hugely noticeable difference in performance and 'fun factor'. Installation is a bit involved. I'm no super-mechanic and was able to do it. So have patience and follow the (well) detailed instructions. I think the S40 and C30 are a little different, so the pictures were a little off, but really no improvising needed during the install. Don't be afraid to muscle the old airbox out (see patience comment above!). And I was initially convinced that the heat shield wasn't going to fit, but once all bolted in it's a PERFECT fit! I'm thrilled and can't wait for exhaust and software!
