Magnetic Drain Plug Prevent abrasive particles from re-circulating through your oil pump and back into the pressurized system with ipd's magnetic drain plug.
This plug catches and holds metal particles as they drain into the oil pan. You'll be able to spot deteriorating engine conditions easily. The plug features new seal ring. Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. Many of the parts are exactly the same as those used in other markets, however we cannot guarantee fitment for those markets.

No, the magnet isn't molded in. After a couple of minutes of playing with it, I was able
to remove the magnet. I then put of drop of JB Weld into the recess on the bolt, and
then pushed the magnet in, wiping off the excess epoxy. Quick fix, and it gives me just
a little peace of mind, knowing that I'm removing that much more metal from my oil.

The magnet at the end is not molded to the bolt. Magnet seems like it is low quality and may not be very powerful, which seems somewhat scary as it could possibly become detached in the oil pan. Don't think I will be installing, instead I will look for one with a more powerful magnet which is molded to the bolt itself.
