Fuel Filters Changing the fuel filter in modern Volvos is pretty easy due to the use of quick-disconnect fittings.
Simply slide the connector collar away from the filter about half an inch and the line will disconnect.
30,000 miles recommended service intervals.

Just changed my filter this weekend and it took about 30 minutes - 1999 V70 2WD. The slide off fittings are easily removed by putting a 17mm open end wrench between the filter and the fitting and prying the fitting away from the filter. Worked like a champ! Make sure you bleed the system pressure off before doing this. My 1999 V70 has a Schraeder valve on the fuel rail and another on the fuel line going to the filter (about 4 inches from the filter). I had let the car sit overnight so the pressure and volume was minimal. Very easy - remove one bolt, open the clamp with a screwdriver, and filter slides out. Manual says interval is 105K miles. I would recommend sooner to keep pump alive. When I cut the filter open after 80K miles, there was some discoloring and a bit of "junk" on about 10% of the filter. Never had any problems, but I will change it much sooner next time.
