 ipd’s new performance ignition coil restores lost power from old factory ignition coils and provides increased performance for highly tuned setups like our stage III kit. Includes MSD coil, ipd 8mm silicone coil wire, mounting bracket, fasteners and instructions to provide a clean, simple installation. Our kit mounts the coil on rubber isolators to reduce engine vibration and it’s also designed to work with the ipd short ram intake which insulates the coil from high engine temps by locating it within the area where cool air enters the intake. ipd performance coil fits 850 and 70 series models from 1993-1998 and takes approximately 30 minutes to install. Very well put together product. Results were as expected. Not a lot more power or anything, but definitely butter smooth idle, and clean throttle response. More consistant for sure. I installed the tune-up kit as well. The only issue, is the space between the intake box and the ignition as already stated. 4 out of 5 stars, a good rating.

I installed this kit a month ago or so, on my '95 855 wagon (2.5 10V non-turbo) which has about 240.000 km on it. I fitted this kit along with the performance spark plugs and 8mm spark plug wires from ipd (I love the bright blue look too), and had an immediate, powerful and amazing increase in power, accelleration and feel of the engine.
The install took about 1.5 hours, mainly because I was extremely careful when drilling out the old coil, and making holes for the new one. Spark plug wires and spark plugs were done in about 15 minutes.
On my non-turbo 2,5 engine it was a tight fit for this coil, between the airbox and the bracket, but it fits fine as long as one is careful with the holes in the bracket.
Excellent stuff, I would recommend this to anyone who either needs to change or wants to upgrade their coil!

I found that this was an IMMEDIATE improvement over stock (car has 116M miles - I installed w/o new tune up kit - waiting for IPD Ignition wires delivery). The fit is tight on the stock air box (non-turbo), but would be better if you would offer a Short Ram airbox for the non-turbo guys (some of us like HP w/o high octane gas). Starts quick and runs much better.

Very simple installation, quicker pick up noticed when first applying the gas....looks GREAT under the hood. This is a very tight fit with a stock air box.....GLAD IPD's SHORT RAM INTAKE'S ON THE UPS TRUCK COMING TO ME!! It'll be a gorgeous pair. Thanks IPD!

Installation was a breeze but it is a very tight fit with my factory air filter box. Seems to deliver as promised but it is hard to tell exactly what part of renewing Stage 0 plus has brought Ole Bessie ('98 V70 T5 270K+ miles) back to like new pep. I guess this was the excuse I was looking for to buy the new SRI.
