 The bushing in the stock firewall mount is very soft and compliant rubber that easily tears. The damage gets progressively worse as the bushing deteriorates with age and underhood heat (especially on turbo models). The excess engine movement from a torn firewall mount will cause slop that translates to unresponsive off-the-line acceleration, poor shifting performance, odd clunks, and accelerated wear on other mounts. A worn-out bushing can go undetected due to the upper torque arm’s position on the mount, making it nearly impossible to inspect without removing the upper torque arm. By then it's too late and the damage is already done. If the mount is not replaced, it’s common for the bushing to completely separate from the mount itself. If your car has more than 50k miles or is more than five years old, consider replacing the stock mount. Even if your car is not modified, the mount will wear - especially on turbo models and modified vehicles that put additional stress on the mount. The performance firewall mount is a brand new mount, reinforced with 97 Shore A durometer polyurethane. It will outlast and outperform the stock mount due to its reinforced design, and is a must on turbo models and modified vehicles. Installed firewall mount along with upper engine stabilizer polyurethane bushings on my 97 850 T5. The car feels much tighter and definite increase in engine noise and vibration. Truly Amazing! Was easy to install...

I installed this on my 1993 850 5 speed. This mount is the Iceing on the cake. I orderd this along with the upper Poly torque mount insert and the assembled lower poly Tranny torque mount. I love all the added feel of the motor. I dont like cushy stock mounts >:{> I love these mounts!!!

I too installed the QBM firewall mount and the poly torque rod bushing at the same time on my 1996 850R. The car immediately seemed like a whole different animal - in a good way! I can hear it growl more and feel a bit of vibration at my feet, but that's the way a hot rod should behave. Highly recommend if you like your performance car, and you appreciate feedback. Not recommended for toting the two year old.

I installed the mount and also the poly engine torque mount and what a difference in engine response. There is more engine noise inside the cabin but that is what a performance car is suppose to sound like. It was a chore to get it on the trick is don't install any bolts until the torque rod is in place.

Installed on '98 V70 T5 and '99 V70R AWD. Significant increase in amount of engine noise transmitted to the passenger compartment with this mount. I have asked IPD if this is normal. Also, installation is a little more difficult if you have an upper strut brace, and it also depends on what type of brace you have.
