Steering Stop Limiter
Do you hear an annoying rubbing sound when you turn the steering wheel full lock? Volvo installs these stop limiters to prevent the tire from rubbing on the inner fender liner. After years of bumping against these limiters they compress and don't offer the same limits as when new. Replacing them will restore the original limits.
Additionally if you fit aftermarket wheels and/or change tire sizes, this can also effect clearances. By fitting a thicker stop you can prevent tire rub that occurs when changing from the factory wheel/tire combination.
Note: the thicker the steering stop, the larger the turning radius becomes on the car so there is a trade-off. The noise you hear is not a safety issue but more of an annoyance.
Please check fitment listed below to ensure products will fit your specific vehicle. Some products may include or exclude some model years or engine and transmission combinations. The products listed on our website are for Volvos sold in the North American market. Many of the parts are exactly the same as those used in other markets, however we cannot guarantee fitment for those markets.

Quick & easy to install. There was no explanation of the difference between the different versions 14.5mm, 18.5mm etc. Presumably they are different stopping positions of the steering but I wasn't sure.
I bought the 18.5mm option - at a bit of a guess. They were very install to install. However I still had tyre rubbing issues with my 01 S60 T5 with standard 17" wheels and 225 tyres - although it had improved the rubbing noise.

If you are having trouble with tire rub check these. One of mine was worn down a decent bit and the other side the urethane section was completely missing and I was getting excessive rubbing (plus horrible sounds at full rotation). Easy to replace and fix rubbing issues.
