Anti-Sway Bars ipd safety anti-sway bars bring you a greater sense of control behind the wheel. Flatter cornering, quicker response to steering input, an increased margin of safety, plus increased traveling comfort for both you and your passengers. ipd anti-sway bar kits are installed using factory mounting locations so no modifications, cutting or welding is necessary. Most kits can be installed with common hand tools in 2-4 hours. By far our most popular upgrade, an ipd anti-sway bar kit will give you years of trouble free service. You'll feel and appreciate the change every time you drive your Volvo. A Risk-Free Opportunity We’re so confident you’ll like our anti-sway bars, we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee — or your money back. Plus if your safety anti-sway bar fails for any reason, at any time, due to defects in parts or workmanship, we will replace it free of charge. Questions on our safety anti-sway bars for your year and model Volvo? Give us a call.
We developed 2 kits for each R model - Standard & Track Spec.
Standard rear Bar Upgrade kit Our standard upgrade kit ups the size of the rear bar only. This kit is intended for most drivers and will significantly reduce body roll and brings the non DSTC controlled handling balance closer to neutral when compared to the stock under steering (plowing) handling characteristics. Track Spec Kit Because a high percentage of R owners are experienced drivers and are entering their cars in non competitive track events, we also developed a "Track Spec" kit that shifts the cars balance to mild over steer by changing the roll couple distribution to a rear bias. This allows experienced performance drivers the thrill of high speed "tail out" driving when DSTC is disabled under safe track conditions. If you are comfortable sliding your car around corners, but wish it didn't "plow" so much, this is the kit for you.

I have installed both the front and rear IPD sway bar kits and have found them to be the best upgrade that can improve the handling of my '01 Volvo XC. The bars are almost 3 years old and I have put about 80,000 miles on them. The bushings have apparently worn out and were creating a clunking noise when going over bumps and potholes. I contacted IPD and they are sending me new bushings to correct this problem. The customer service really ROCKS! I also recommend installing the heavy duty IPD sway bar links because they seem to last much longer than the oem Volvo parts. Every XC owner should consider making this upgrade to gain better control over rough roads and taking corners at higher speed.

After purchasing these sway bars I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are powder coated in a sexy blue finish that I would say is comparable to that of the blue silicone hoses and couplers you can find online. IPD was more than happy to stand behind their product yet I will be honest... After about 10 minutes of driving they really didn't need to. From the first curve I took these things sold themselves and keep on selling until I parked my R and walked away thinking wow! The difference is night and day regardless of the 4C suspension setting every time you turn the wheel no matter for a lane change, a city turn, or a high speed curve I smile with satisfaction at the huge improvement these swaybars make. Turn in, stability, comfort, it's all improved! I kind of laughed when I saw this marketed as a safety improvement product but I am completely sold that this is a must have performance / safety improvement that this R owner wouldn't be without! Thanks IPD!!!

Thanks IPD. After speaking with Chris for a while on the phone answering all my specific questions about upgrading my 2001 S60 with IPD's Anti-Sway Bars, I was convinced. I also added the HD link rods. Wow!! What a difference. I'm ready to take this to the track. Corners taken at 20-25 mph can now be taken at 40+ mph. By far the most bang for the buck I've ever got from a suspension upgrade. I love the ride so much, I'm negotiating to buy a 2004 S60R AWD 6 speed to add to my fun. IPD customer for life.

This is by far the best, easiest, most bang-for-your-buck mod you can do to your car! Handling improvement is immediately noticeable! Instructions are very clear, I did the rear myself (easy) and had a shop do the front (requires full suspension drop). I recommend doing the endlinks too, because the old ones will be rusted and will bend/break and cause more damage if you leave them in.
The blue finish is great, urethane bushings awesome. Everybody that sees the little blue paint from the back loves it, and friends with S60s love the handling of mine - less of that SUV-feeling body roll!
This is the best upgrade to improve handling of the car without creating excess cabin noise, crashing through bumps or comfort. Highly recommended! (btw I've had it on for 8 months and still love it)

Installed the 22mm rear sway bar on my 2001 2.4 V70 FWD. My V70 did not have a factory rear anti-sway bar and was hard to control on fast corners. After one hour to install using stock Volvo end-links I took my Volvolito out on some hard curves. WOW!!!!!!! great improvement. Only one regret, I called ipd to order a 25mm rear anti-sway bar and I was told that they only make a 22mm rear bar for 2001-2007 V70 FWD. "what a shame". So all of you V70 FWD folks out there call or send an email to ipd asking for more performance parts for P2 V70 FWD.

An upgrade that I should have done sooner. My V70 T5 feels smoother, safer, more stable and is definately more fun with these bars. Installed with HD endlinks, so some of the credit may go to them, but overall the combination of HD endlinks and anti-sway bars was well worth it.

I installed front and rear bars on my V70 T5, as well as end-links (big QBM's on the front). These upgrades are a subtle improvement over the T5 stock bars (19 rear, 22 front, upgraded to 22 rear, 25 front), but definitely noticeable. The car still feels relatively soft, just a little firmer in roll. It still pushes, and positive dynamic camber is still a problem. But all in all, the sway bars were a worthwhile upgrade. Nordic Motors in San Carlos did the work, and did a fine job, with one small exception that they were happy to fix. I'd recommend them.

I have IPD swaybars on my 1987 740 wagon and couldn't wait for them to release them for my 2001 S60. Absolutely the best change anyone can make to improve handling. I have had some bushing problems since installing them in 2002; not IPD's fault, due to all the salt used on the roads in the winter. Thanks IPD for a great product.

Amazing product. Your car will be glued to the road no matter what. You probably thought that handling and suspension could not be improved in your R, then you have to try this. My fear was to diminish comfort due to stiffness. Well I was wrong, it got more comfortable and not stiff at all. However, it definitely needs to be installed by a professional Volvo mechanic. It is challenge even for them, but well worth it.

The guys at IPD told me it would take about 4 hours to install these--which is what my mechanic charged me. I have just one word: SWEEEET. I took my S80 on a tight curvy road, kept it revved in 2nd gear and was amazed! It truly is another car now--no roll, no drift, no tire squeel. Under normal conditions, that little S-curve getting on the highway becomes smooth as silk. It was worth every penny.
