Volvo S60 » Brake Pads Sets

Thank God I bought this.... Without this hex tool I wouldn't have been able to change the brake pads & routers on my 2001 Volvo S60. So If you have a 2001 S60, make sure you make this low cost investment which is worth gold!

These only worked half as good as advertised on my 2000 S80 T.
Dust was reduced, so if that's all you care about go for it.
However, they squeal like no pads I've ever heard. My wife won't even ride with me due to the embarrassment!

This is the first time an IPD purchase went bad though. I'll likely go back to Volvo OEM for these pads so that I'm not out more money trying another unknown brand.

ipd customer service response: Putting new pads on worn rotors will almost always squeal. Rotors and pads should be replaced together on all ABS equipped Volvos.

Not needed for my 2005 S40 FWD w/ 300mm rotors.

That's because it's for S70/V70 1998-2000, not your 04.
I used it to do mine today, it works perfectly fine and was definitely neccesary to remove the guide pins to remove the pads in the front calipers.

this tool is not necessary for an 04 s60r. i ordered it after seeing in the description "for front and all wheel drive volvos" and am dissapointed that it was not needed.

ipd customer service response: The "R" models have Brembo calipers and are the only exception to the application. Brembos have punch out pins, all other models require this socket to remove the bolts. We will fix our product description to exclude "R" models.
